OVERHEAD CONDUCTOR

ALUMINIUM CONDUCTORS STEEL REINFORCED (ACSR)

Aluminium Conductors, Steel-Reinforced (ACSR) can be used in Medium, High, and Extra-High voltage transmission lines; also used for primary and secondary distribution lines. The combination of aluminium and steel in the Conductor design offers both efficient conductivity and high tensile strength making ACSR the most economical solution for overhead power transmission and distribution projects.

CONSTRUCTION

Aluminium 1350–H19 Wires, concentrically stranded over a central wire/core of Galvanized steel.

APPLICATION

Its low weight combined with high tensile strength allows larger span runs. Electrical losses by corona effect are greatly reduced, due to the larger diameter size. Economical transmission and distribution of electrical energy can be achieved by ACSR, at very high voltages and distances.
